Since I know I havent posted in a while, here is a quick recap of my last few weeks in Nice
a) Move into an apt/ cook for myself and subsequently starve to death/ learn I live next door to a bakery
b) Final exams/ cramming/ no sleep/ cranky
c) Vacation starts/ Everyone leaves me for the U.S./ sad- no longer popular
d) Happiness returns when I remember that I'm still in the south of France and can go to the beach
e) Passed my exams/ remember how to breath/ Brami thinks I am less of an idiot
f) Trying to get a new visa/ death to all french bureaucrats/ will never complain about DMV ever again!
g) New Maryland students arrive/ I have friends again
h) Spent all my money on tickets to Greece then find out Su and Doris are going to be in Holland
i) Learn of a Chipotle location in Paris/ tentative plans to make a pilgrimage are formed
So as you can see it was definitely an emotional roller coaster to say the least; one might even venture to say an emotional Himalayan mining haulage car ride. But, I count my blessings, or more specifically, the number of pains au chocolat I eat in a day, or even more specifically 5, give or take.
I will now post a lovely melange of photos taken from a variety of places...will explain as we go on.
I believe this is the first time I am actually posting picture of any friends I have in Nice, so you can believe me now when I say that I have friends.
Dinghies (who knew that was the plural form) in the port.
More Dinghies, this time at more of an angle.
Cheers to Marc, man of the hour. You will be missed R.I.P.(I.A.) (rest in peace in America)
The Goodbye Party
My new favorite meal/ the only meal I can make
So wish me luck as I venture out of France for the first time since arriving in September! Will post pictures of the Pope's golden toilet as soon as I can infiltrate his secret lair!
